Frequently asked questions

How non-custodial crypto payments work with Crypteo, where to receive them, and what they cost.

Getting started

Create a free account, add the wallet addresses you want to be paid into, then create a payment link from the dashboard or a payment session through the REST API. Your buyer pays on a hosted checkout page and you get a webhook and an email when the payment confirms.

Use a non-custodial wallet, one where you hold the keys, such as Base Wallet or Trust Wallet. Don't use a deposit address from an exchange (Nexo, Binance, Coinbase and the like). Exchanges screen incoming transfers: they can hold a deposit, ask you to explain where each payment came from, or refuse to credit it. Payments that land in your own wallet are simply yours.

An exchange deposit address belongs to the exchange, not to you. Every incoming payment is reviewed under the exchange's rules, so a busy store quickly turns into a stream of 'please provide information about this transaction' requests and frozen deposits. Some exchanges also need their own XRP destination tag or Solana memo, which conflicts with the per-payment tag Crypteo assigns at checkout. A self-custody wallet avoids all of that.

No. Crypteo never holds or moves your money: buyers pay your own addresses directly and we only read the public blockchain to see the payment arrive. Sign up with an email address and you're ready.

Funds and security

Never. Crypteo is non-custodial. You give us public receiving addresses, never private keys or seed phrases. Payments go from the buyer's wallet straight to yours, and we watch the chain to confirm them.

Your funds can't be, because we never have them. There is no processor balance, no payout schedule and no reserve. With a card processor or a custodial gateway, one risk review can lock up weeks of revenue. With Crypteo the money is already in your wallet the moment the transaction confirms.

Two things. First, there is no payment provider between you and your buyer that can decide to stop serving your business. Second, buyers pay a plain wallet address that belongs to you, not a processor's pooled deposit address, so a buyer's exchange sees an ordinary withdrawal to a personal wallet instead of a transfer to a payment platform it may refuse to send to.

Payments

Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Tron, Dogecoin, Zcash (transparent addresses) and Cardano. USDC is accepted on Ethereum, Solana, BNB Smart Chain and Polygon; USDT on those plus Tron (TRC-20).

Crypteo checks a new checkout on-chain every 15 seconds (less often as it ages) and marks a payment confirmed once the network has the confirmations it needs. That's under a minute on Solana, XRP and BNB Smart Chain, a minute or two on Tron, Ethereum and Polygon, and three blocks (about 30 minutes) on Bitcoin. Funds are in your wallet from the moment the transaction is mined; there is nothing for us to release.

Every session compares what arrived with what was asked. An underpayment is marked underpaid and the buyer can top up within the payment window; an overpayment is marked overpaid. You can set how close a payment must be to count as paid, and each status change fires your webhook.

Pricing and integration

0.15% to 0.45% of your paid volume, set by how much you take each month, with no setup fee and no withdrawal fees. Fees are invoiced every 3 billing months (about 90 days) once they reach $10, or at the end of the billing month when they reach $100; until then they carry forward. Buyers pay their own network fee, as with any on-chain transfer. See the pricing page for the tiers.

Share payment links from the dashboard with no code at all, or create payment sessions with the REST API and redirect buyers to the hosted checkout. Signed webhooks tell your backend when a payment is detected, confirmed, underpaid or expired. Test-mode API keys let you build the whole flow without moving real funds.
